Anaergia expands Italian biomethane projects with QGM, increasing contract value by C$17 million while supporting renewable energy and decarbonization goals.
Anaergia鈥檚 Italian subsidiary, Anaergia S.r.l., has strengthened its involvement in three biomethane facility projects being developed in northern Italy by signing amendments to earlier agreements with an entity owned by QGM S.脿.r.l.. These projects, located in Ostellato, Copparo, and Derovere, are part of a broader push to expand renewable energy infrastructure and reduce carbon emissions across the region.
Under the revised agreements, Anaergia S.r.l. will take on an expanded scope of work across all three facilities. This enhancement has significantly increased the overall value of the contracts awarded to the company. Previously valued at approximately C$68 million, the total contract value has now risen to around C$85 million, reflecting an increase of C$17 million. This growth underscores both the scale of the projects and the confidence placed in Anaergia鈥檚 technological expertise and execution capabilities.
Originally announced earlier in 2025, these projects are designed to utilize Anaergia鈥檚 proprietary anaerobic digestion technologies. Through this process, organic agricultural residues鈥攕uch as crop waste and other biodegradable materials鈥攚ill be converted into renewable biomethane. This gas can then be injected into Italy鈥檚 existing natural gas grid, offering a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels while also supporting circular economy principles in the agricultural sector.
