The price trend of x-Hexene in the Asian region has followed the downtrend in prices entering May. This decline was strongly linked to the overall weak demand and market pressure in the polyethylene (PE) sector especially in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE), both of which heavily depend on x-Hexene as a raw material. The consistent fall in x-Hexene prices has been driven by slow buying interest, excess stock levels, and lower import offers across key Asian markets.
Entering May the x-Hexene market in South Korea continued to decline as seen in April.
