Black Rose Industries Ltd., a leading Indian chemical company, and Koei Chemical Co. Ltd., a prominent Japanese manufacturer of specialty chemicals, have jointly initiated a feasibility study for a collaborative manufacturing project focused on amine products in India. This move marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral industrial ties and expanding high-value chemical manufacturing capabilities within India.
As part of the initial plan, Black Rose will be responsible for establishing manufacturing facilities in India. The plant will utilize proprietary technologies and specialized know-how provided by Koei Chemical. The feasibility study will assess the technical and commercial viability of the proposed project, including infrastructure requirements, regulatory conditions, production scalability, and market demand.
Pending the outcome of the study, both companies plan to formalize their collaboration by entering into definitive agreements. Once a favorable assessment is completed, construction and installation of plant facilities will proceed. The partnership aims to create a modern production base capable of supplying high-quality amine products to both domestic and global markets.
鈥淭his project represents another important step in our strategy of transforming long-standing distribution relationships into valuable manufacturing partnerships,鈥 said Anup Jatia, chairman of Black Rose Industries. 鈥淲e are pleased to expand our association with Koei Chemical and are optimistic about the opportunities that lie in the field of specialty amines. These compounds are expected to play a key role in the future growth of the Indian chemical industry.鈥
Amines are versatile chemical compounds used across a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, personal care, water treatment and others. With India鈥檚 growing demand for specialty chemicals and the government鈥檚 push for domestic manufacturing under initiatives such as 鈥淢ake in India,鈥 this project aligns with national industrial development goals.
Ray Nishimoto, president of Koei Chemical, echoed the enthusiasm surrounding the collaboration. 鈥淲e are excited about the progress of this project to manufacture our amine products in India,鈥 Nishimoto said. 鈥淲orking with Black Rose, a company with deep knowledge of the local market and proven leadership, adds great value to our efforts. We are confident that this partnership will strengthen our global footprint and enhance our competitiveness beyond Japan.鈥
Nishimoto further noted that the project is strategically significant for Koei Chemical. 鈥淭his venture adds an important dimension to our international strategy by building a manufacturing presence in one of the world鈥檚 fastest-growing economies,鈥 he said.
Both companies emphasized their commitment to innovation, sustainability, and long-term growth. The planned facility will aim to meet high environmental and safety standards while leveraging advanced technology to deliver consistent quality.
Further announcements regarding timelines, investment details, and operational plans are expected following the completion of the feasibility study and subsequent formalization of the partnership.
