Blencowe completes deep drilling at Orom-Cross, confirming extensive graphite mineralisation and advancing DFS amid strong strategic and financial support.
Blencowe Resources Plc has successfully completed three deep drill holes at the Northern Syncline zone of its Orom-Cross Graphite Project in Uganda, following promising results at the nearby Beehive target. These drilling efforts build upon earlier successes and confirm the presence of extensive graphite mineralisation at significant depths, indicating the potential for a substantially larger resource base than previously estimated. The Northern Syncline and Beehive targets, which are located roughly 3 kilometers apart, have both demonstrated continuity of mineralisation beyond 100 metres in depth鈥攐ver three times deeper than the current 30-metre production horizon. This milestone marks the conclusion of the Stage 7 drilling programme and underscores the vast commercial potential of the Orom-Cross project.
The entire Stage 7 campaign encompassed 6,750 metres of drilling, including 221 resource holes, 8 geotechnical holes, and 6 deep holes. All three deep holes at the Northern Syncline intercepted wide graphite zones to vertical depths exceeding 100 metres, with all holes ending in mineralised rock, confirming that the orebody remains open at depth. These results suggest a significant opportunity to expand the mine鈥檚 resource model, extend the mine life, and enhance the project鈥檚 overall valuation鈥攅lements that will feed directly into Blencowe鈥檚 forthcoming Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).
All reported drilling thus far has focused on tenement ML 1959, which already holds a 21-year mining licence. However, Blencowe also holds adjacent exploration tenements that cover a much broader area and exhibit indications of similar graphite mineralisation, pointing to even greater expansion opportunities.
Final assay processing from over 230 drill holes is currently underway. Results will be released progressively and are expected to inform a significant JORC Resource upgrade. These findings will also support ongoing DFS workstreams, including offtake agreements, mine planning, infrastructure development, environmental and social governance (ESG) initiatives, and regulatory permitting.
Ongoing exploration continues to be strongly supported by the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), with the next tranche of a US$0.75 million grant expected soon. Independent geologists estimate that the Orom-Cross project may contain over two billion tonnes of graphite, making it a globally significant resource in the clean energy supply chain.
Executive Chairman Cameron Pearce noted that the Northern Syncline results reinforce the enormous scale of the graphite deposit. He emphasized that with all deep holes ending in mineralisation and many assay results still pending, the project鈥檚 value proposition is becoming increasingly compelling. Blencowe remains 100% owner of the licence area, a significant strategic advantage as it moves toward finalising the DFS and attracting potential partners.
