Gujarat government signed MOU with BioChem for contruction of bio-refinery ethylene plant.

The Gujarat government and BioChem USA LLC signed a memorandum of understanding for construction bio-refinery and ethanol to ethylene plant. The bio-refinery will be established in Dahej PCPIR and ethanol to ethylene plant will be established near Vadodara.聽

The proposed bio-refinery will produce fuel ethanol using corn as a raw material. It is expected to process 10 lakh tons of corn and around 3 lakh tons of biomass for bio-fuel ethanol and bio-jet fuel per year. An investment of INR 20000 Million has been made for the establishment of this bio-refinery.

The ethanol to ethylene plant will be set up near IOCL refinery in Koyali with an investment of INR 10000 Million. This refinery will start its production from March 2021.
