Huntsman Corp., a global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated and specialty chemicals (including polyurethane, advanced materials, and performance products), announced the expansion of its Conroe, Texas, facility with the addition of a new purification and packaging unit under its E-GRADE庐 product line. The investment aims to meet rising global demand for high-purity materials used in semiconductor manufacturing.
The expansion, part of the company鈥檚 Performance Products division, is expected to strengthen Huntsman鈥檚 position in the semiconductor market by supplying high-quality, low-trace metal amines. These products鈥攊ncluding quaternary amines and amine oxides鈥攁re essential to the production of advanced semiconductor chips, which are increasingly in demand due to the rapid development of artificial intelligence and next-generation technologies.
鈥淲ith the accelerating growth of AI and the corresponding need for advanced node chips, our Conroe investment demonstrates our long-term commitment to innovation and supply chain reliability for semiconductor customers around the world,鈥 said Peter Huntsman, chairman, president and CEO of Huntsman Corp.
The new E-GRADE庐 unit will allow for end-to-end control of product quality, with capabilities spanning blending, purification and packaging. The facility is designed to support consistent, high-purity output while adhering to rigorous industry standards for safety, reliability and performance.
Jan Buberl, president of Performance Products, said the expansion enhances Huntsman鈥檚 ability to serve the global semiconductor market.
鈥淲ith this new offering, we are well positioned to become a leading supplier of semiconductor-grade amines,鈥 Buberl said. 鈥淲e now bring together global manufacturing scale, deep R&D capabilities and a comprehensive product portfolio to deliver solutions that align with the highest quality expectations in the industry.鈥
The development has also been welcomed by local officials as a boost to the regional economy. Duke Coon, mayor of Conroe, praised the investment for its economic impact and job creation potential.
鈥淗untsman鈥檚 E-GRADE庐 unit is a major milestone for our city,鈥 Coon said. 鈥淭his expansion not only enhances Conroe鈥檚 reputation as a center for advanced manufacturing and technology, but it also brings new employment opportunities to our community.鈥
The Conroe facility鈥檚 strategic upgrade underscores Huntsman鈥檚 focus on growth and innovation in key markets, including electronics and semiconductors, while reinforcing its broader goal of delivering high-performance solutions across the globe.
