R枚hm Shanghai has earned the internationally recognized ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) PLUS certification for its methyl methacrylate (MMA), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), and methacrylate resin products. Additionally, Roehm Chemical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has been certified as an ISCC PLUS trading and storage operator. This significant milestone allows R枚hm to expand its sustainable product portfolio in China and across Asia, offering its established brands, including MERACRYL庐, PLEXIGLAS庐, DEGALAN庐, and DEGAROUTE庐, to customers seeking eco-friendly solutions.

Under its proTerra brand, R枚hm has already introduced a broad range of low-carbon-footprint products. These products are manufactured using either recycled PMMA, recycled MMA, or ISCC PLUS-certified sustainable raw materials. ISCC PLUS is a globally recognized certification system that promotes the sustainable production and use of renewable or recycled raw materials. The certification ensures transparency and traceability along the entire value chain and production process, following the principle of mass balancing. This approach integrates sustainable materials without altering the product's quality or functionality, making it easier for customers to adopt eco-friendly alternatives.

鈥淎chieving ISCC PLUS certification is a significant milestone on our roadmap to sustainability in Asia,鈥 said Benjamin Ling, President of R枚hm Asia. 鈥淲ith this certification, we can support our customers in China and across Asia by supplying products derived from sustainable resources without compromising on product quality or requiring adjustments to their existing processes.鈥

This achievement highlights R枚hm鈥檚 commitment to advancing sustainability on a global scale. The Shanghai site is the company鈥檚 first facility outside Germany to receive ISCC PLUS certification, following similar certifications at its Worms and Wesseling production sites in Germany. The Shanghai facility鈥檚 certification aligns with R枚hm鈥檚 broader sustainability goals under its 鈥楾rack 2030鈥 program, which emphasizes the integration of sustainable practices and the reduction of environmental impact across its operations.

By achieving ISCC PLUS certification, R枚hm positions itself as a key supplier of sustainable materials in the rapidly growing Asian market. The certification not only bolsters R枚hm鈥檚 reputation as a sustainability leader but also provides its customers with the confidence that their products are sourced and manufactured responsibly.

This milestone marks a step forward in meeting the increasing global demand for sustainable materials. By combining innovative production methods with a commitment to sustainability, R枚hm strengthens its ability to provide eco-friendly solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.

R枚hm is a global leader in methacrylate chemistry, supplying customers across fast-growing sectors such as automotive, construction, and medical technology. Our MERACRYL庐 methacrylates and PMMA molding compounds, marketed under the PLEXIGLAS庐 brand, are produced in our extensive global network of manufacturing sites. These high-quality products cater to a broad spectrum of applications, including paints, coatings, car taillights, medical devices, aircraft glazing, household appliance displays, and road markings.
