Traders in the Gulf Coast were able to obtain enough product from producers with steady production rates that were receiving an uninterrupted supply of feedstocks. Both high levels of THF stored in commodities and an abundance of quantities available for resale created significant downward pressure on pricing and contributed to negotiations being strained. Many THF consumers were careful about their purchasing decisions and were primarily purchasing on a very short-term basis expecting prices to continue to drop.
