Volt Lithium Corp. has successfully completed a 24-hour continuous run of its Generation 5 Field Unit in the Permian Basin, Texas, processing 11,573 barrels鈥攕urpassing the initial 10,000 barrels per day (bpd) milestone. The large-scale Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) system, developed in just four weeks through collaboration with a partner, was too large for testing at Volt鈥檚 Calgary demonstration facility, showcasing advancements in design and engineering.

Seamlessly integrated into the partner鈥檚 operational specifications, the system鈥檚 rapid deployment demonstrates Volt鈥檚 ability to scale production efficiently. "During this 24-hour run, our Generation 5 Field Unit processed 11,573 barrels, surpassing the 10,000 bpd milestone," said Alex Wylie, President & CEO of Volt. "We have begun stockpiling lithium, confirming the commercial viability of our DLE technology. This success keeps us on track for our 2025 goals as the system is designed to handle even higher volumes."

Key Highlights from Generation 5 Launch:

  • Largest DLE System to Date: The Generation 5 Field Unit is Volt鈥檚 most extensive system, transitioning directly from modular assembly to full-scale field operations.
  • Rapid Deployment: Project execution began in mid-January, and the system was fully operational within four weeks, underscoring Volt鈥檚 capacity to fast-track production.
  • Path to Peak Capacity: Having exceeded the 10,000 bpd threshold, Volt will continue testing and optimizing the system throughout February to determine its maximum throughput potential.

Tariff Exemption Update

Concerns over potential new tariffs on Canadian imports will not impact Volt. By sourcing equipment and materials from U.S.-based suppliers, operating in Texas, and focusing on domestic customers, Volt remains exempt from these measures. This strategic approach solidifies Volt鈥檚 position as a cost-effective, U.S.-based supplier in the oilfield brine lithium sector, reinforcing its commitment to delivering a stable domestic lithium source.

Volt鈥檚 rapid progress with the Generation 5 Field Unit not only proves the commercial viability of its DLE technology but also positions the company as a leader in efficiently scaling lithium extraction solutions to meet growing industry demands.

Volt is a lithium development and technology company focused on becoming one of North America鈥檚 first commercial lithium producers from oilfield brine. Its strategy leverages management鈥檚 hydrocarbon expertise and existing infrastructure to extract lithium from operational wells, minimizing capital costs, reducing risks, and supporting the global clean energy transition. With four key pillars and a proprietary Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology, Volt is dedicated to achieving high lithium recovery rates at low costs, positioning the company for successful commercialization. Committed to efficiency and transparency, Volt remains focused on delivering long-term, sustainable value for its shareholders.
