Patriot Battery Metals Inc. has shared an update on the permitting progress of its wholly owned Shaakichiuwaanaan Lithium Project, located in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Quebec. The project鈥檚 mineral resource estimate (MRE) includes 80.1 million tonnes at 1.44% Li2O (Indicated) and 62.5 million tonnes at 1.31% Li2O (Inferred). The CV5 Spodumene Pegmatite, which accounts for the majority of the MRE, benefits from year-round access via an all-season road and is located approximately 14 km from a major hydroelectric powerline. The CV13 Pegmatite, situated less than 3 km from CV5 along the same geological trend, also hosts significant lithium and tantalum resources, along with a newly discovered cesium mineralized zone.

Federal Project Approval Submissions and ESIA Studies

In February 2025, the Company submitted its Initial Project Description for the CV5 Pegmatite to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC), formally launching the federal permitting process. The Joint Assessment Committee鈥攃omprising IAAC and the Cree Nation Government鈥攃onfirmed that the submission met all required criteria. As a result, IAAC initiated its official planning and public comment phase, including two public sessions held in February.

Following the public consultations, Patriot addressed the submitted questions and is now awaiting IAAC鈥檚 tailored Impact Statement Guidelines. This will enable the Company to prepare its Federal Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), expected later in 2025. The federal process will proceed in tandem with the provincial process, initiated in 2023, with efforts to align both reviews to reduce duplication and streamline approvals.

Provincial Project Approval Submissions and ESIA Studies

In November 2023, Patriot submitted a Preliminary Information Statement to Qu茅bec鈥檚 MELCCFP. This led to the issuance of official ESIA guidelines. An updated submission in January 2025 reflected the new project name鈥擲haakichiuwaanaan鈥攁nd clarified the hybrid mining approach under evaluation, which includes both open-pit and underground methods.

These submissions lay the groundwork for the final ESIA and the formal launch of the Mine Authorization process expected later in 2025. CEO Ken Brinsden highlighted the significant progress made, noting the rapid advancement from discovery to near-permitting within four years, while maintaining high standards in environmental and community engagement.

Overall Project Approval Summary Position

Over the past three years, Patriot has carried out comprehensive environmental baseline studies and community consultations to support both federal and provincial ESIA submissions. These efforts have kept the project on schedule for permitting milestones in the latter half of 2025.

Additionally, Alix Drapack, Executive Vice President of ESG, has announced her retirement. She will continue supporting the team in an advisory role to ensure seamless progress as the Company advances its permitting objectives.
